Production Manager Georgia-Canton     Category: Administrative Job Status: Full Time       Job Description   SUMMARY: Coordinates activities of production departments and works with the facility maintenance group in processing materials to produce cryogenic pressure vessels at the Canton facility. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING. 1. Works with Product Line Supervisors on process improvements, utilizing Lean manufacturing techniques, Kaizen, 5S, etc. 2. Works with Master Scheduler to established throughput goals by daily work order releases per product line, identifies constraints and manages production capacity requirements to meet objectives. 3. Reviews production schedules and balances manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications. 4. Plans cross training to insure coverage of all production areas. 5. Reviews production and operating reports and communicates discrepancies to established budgets. 6. Develops or revises standard quality, operational and working practices and observes product results to ensure compliance with standards. 7. Observes workers and other supervisors to ensure that company safety practices and procedures and applicable OSHA regulations are being followed. 8. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Manufacturing Manager.     Qualifications   QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. • Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or five to eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Familiar with Lean Techniques, Kaizen, Kan ban and 5S. • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. • Ability to effectively present information and respond to managers, clients, and customers. • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
