The Logistics Specialist will be responsible for executing all exports and imports for Chart, Inc. Biomedical Division. Duties include accurate execution of export shipments in accordance with Inco terms of Sale, preparation of U.S. export documentation and coordination with logistics suppliers to ensure on-time delivery performance. This role will also be responsible for managing and monitoring import shipments through coordination with global and logistics suppliers to ensure on-time delivery to Chart facilities. The Logistics Specialist will work closely with customer service, shipping and purchasing to effectively provide the highest level of customer service.
Timely execution of export and import shipments in accordance with Inco terms.
Prepare various international shipping documents such as shipping invoices, packing lists and various declarations in accordance with the requirements of U.S. and foreign country's export/import laws.
Communicate cargo dispatch information to international freight forwarders.
Effectively coordinate with customer service, shipping & purchasing to understand delivery deadlines, shipment readiness timelines and customers’ unique procedural and/or documentation requirements.
Request and provide shipping quotes as needed. Provide strategic logistics advice to internal decision makers to ensure most cost-effective transportation options are utilized to meet delivery targets.
Quickly resolve shipping delays/issues which may arise and promptly manage expectations of external/internal customers when delivery performance is affected.
Maintain international shipping records in accordance with U.S. export/import laws and company policies.
Participate in the development and implementation of import/export compliance processes and procedures.
Assist in developing solutions that leverage volume, systems and partnerships while providing consistently high levels of customer service in a cost-effective manner.

Bachelor’s degree preferred, preferably in transportation, logistics or supply chain management.
Three to Five years of international transportation management experience.
Strong understanding and working knowledge of import and export regulations for the U.S. and foreign countries. Including EAR, CCL, ICC Inco terms, ISF, HTSUS and Schedule B product classification.
Experienced in producing various logistics documents and filing export declaration via the Automated Export System of the U.S. Census Bureau.
Experience with JD Edwards Enterprise One and managing shipments using TMS is a plus
Detailed oriented individual with strong problem solving skills and the ability to work in a high pressure fast paced environment while handling multiple assignments.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong computer skills.
